The third oldest public golf course west of the Mississippi, Patty Jewett Golf Course has history, character and an aura that creates a special atmosphere.
You enter Patty Jewett through elegant, black, wrought-iron gates that open onto a road lined with a canopy of 100-year-old trees. Much like a drive to a fine Southern mansion, the road ends atop a small rise upon which is the club house -- the hub of this fine, historic, full-service golf course.
Patty Jewett has been a city-owned course since 1919 and regularly hosts the Pikes Peak Amateur Tournament, won by Hale Irwin in 1965. Designed and maintained for players of all abilities, this 18-hole course presents sly challenges to even the most experienced golfer.
Patty Jewett was designed by Willie Campbell in 1898. The 9-hole course was designed by Mark Mahanna in 1967. Wayward trees, a small creek and curves in just the right places will make a smart golfer stop and contemplate the shot.
Patty Jewett is a par 72 course. It measures 6,811 yards from the championship tees; 6,463 from the regulation tees. From the front tees it measures 5,998 yards. A separate 9-hole course is available.
After your first round of golf, stop in the club house to savor some tasty food and drink. The fine, wood-paneled rooms are perfect for private parties and events, and the terrace presents gracious views of massive Pikes Peak and the Front Range. The scenery will exceed your expectations.
Tee times may be reserved in person or by telephoning the Starter House up to seven days prior to play.
