Wellington is well-known in southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma as the place where you get around quickly. And that's by design. Greens are close to tees and the rough is never high enough to lose a ball.
Opened in 1919 (with sand greens!), Wellington has a traditional design with no superfluous mounds and modern architecture-style craziness. What you see is what you get at Wellington and that makes for enjoyable (and fast) golf.
The most anyone pays at Wellington for 18 holes is $27.00 with half cart and there are specials and discounts almost every week. The annual membership is just $475. And the greens fee is good for the entire day. Golf at Wellington is about $1 to $2 a hole—less if you get the annual membership.
